The cost of a calibrator also doesn't help. Dell - S2721DGF 27' Gaming IPS QHD FreeSync and G-SYNC compatible monitor with HDR (DisplayPort, HDMI) - Accent Grey. Thanks for the calibration advice, it's what I was thinking also. You can have gorgeous colors, deep blacks, good viewing angles, no smear/flicker, speed and affordability but not all at the same time on the same monitor :/ For me, until OLEDs or microLED became available on the same sizes and prices, IPS is the best choice. But it's a pity that we still don't have monitors that don't force us to sacrifice something or the other. I know it won't be perfect but it won't (I hope) be worse than what I already have. The Dell 27 Gaming Monitor S2721DGF is great for gaming. Nevarre, true about the blacks on IPS but, having used one since I switched from a CRT, I think it won't be a shock. I'll let you know how it is when I get it, I'm also really curious to know how different the higher refresh rate / VRR experience will be, having only used 60Hz until now. I won't have it for at least two more weeks The retailer where I ordered it told me the it will be at least two more weeks until they receive them.
